Senior Network Engineer

Michigan Farm Bureau seeks a Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, and support secure, highly available networks that power our agriculture-focused operations across Michigan. In this role you'll architect and maintain enterprise LAN/WAN, VPN, Wi-Fi, and firewall solutions, ensuring reliable connectivity for offices, remote staff, and member services. You'll monitor performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and lead upgrades and security hardening. Collaborating with IT, security, and business teams, you'll contribute to disaster recovery planning and mentor junior staff, all in a mission-driven, member-focused culture with strong benefits and professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, and VPN infrastructure.
• Administer and secure routers, switches, and firewalls to ensure high availability and performance.
• Monitor network health, analyze logs and alerts, and resolve complex connectivity issues.
• Plan and lead upgrades, migrations, and capacity improvements across the network environment.
• Implement and maintain network security controls, segmentation, and best practices.
• Support disaster recovery, redundancy, and business continuity network strategies.
• Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and application teams on projects and incident response.
• Document network designs, configurations, and standards, maintaining accurate diagrams and inventories.
• Mentor and provide technical escalation support to junior network and support staff.
• Partner with business stakeholders to align network solutions with member and organizational needs.
