Michigan Farm Bureau seeks a Manager, Property/Casualty Underwriting to lead a team supporting Michigan's agricultural producers and rural communities. This role oversees underwriting guidelines, risk selection, and pricing for farm and rural P/C products, ensuring profitable growth and regulatory compliance. The manager will review complex accounts, analyze portfolio performance, and partner with claims, actuarial, sales, and member services to support growth and retention.

Responsibilities
- Lead property/casualty underwriting team supporting Michigan Farm Bureau members in agriculture and rural communities
- Develop and implement underwriting guidelines, risk selection standards, and pricing strategies for farm and rural risks
- Review and approve complex or high-value accounts, ensuring profitability and compliance with company and regulatory requirements
- Analyze portfolio performance, loss trends, and market conditions to recommend product and rate adjustments
- Collaborate with claims, actuarial, sales, and membership teams to support growth, retention, and service goals
- Coach, mentor, and evaluate underwriters, providing training and career development in line with organizational culture
- Ensure underwriting practices align with member-focused values, agricultural advocacy, and rural community needs
- Support technology, process, and data improvements to increase underwriting efficiency and accuracy
- Represent underwriting in internal committees and external meetings with agents, partners, and agricultural stakeholders
- Ensure adherence to all underwriting authorities, regulatory requirements, and internal audit standards
