Job Description
As a staff level attorney, the incumbent is expected to handle legal assignments that have significant impact on cases involving child support. The incumbent will routinely handle assignments of varying legal complexity. Under the supervision of the Division Chief and the First Assistant, reviews warrant requests, approves warrants, search warrants, investigative subpoenas, MiCSES records, child support payment records, investigative reports, credit reports, internet-based asset searches, draft motions, responsive pleadings, drafts formal and informal legal opinions, provides day-to-day legal representation for the People of the State of Michigan.
Includes extensive driving and frequent court appearances including Probable Cause Conferences, Preliminary Examinations, Pretrials, Hearings, and Trials.
Handle legal assignments that have significant impact on child support cases. Routine handling of varied legal complexity including warrant requests, search and investigative subpoenas, records, motions, pleadings, legal opinions. Day‑to‑day representation for the People of the State of Michigan, including court appearances such as probable cause conferences, preliminary examinations, pretrials, hearings, and trials.
Qualifications- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited school of law.
- Member in good standing of the Michigan State Bar.
- Four years of post‑bar admission legal experience.
