Inventory Clerk

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Inventory Clerk to join our team in Lansing, Michigan. This contract position offers an opportunity to contribute to efficient inventory management within the transportation industry. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to maintaining inventory processes and supporting operational needs.

Responsibilities:

- Receive incoming shipments, both inventory and non-inventory, and ensure timely delivery to appropriate departments and work areas.

- Maintain accurate records and provide required data, materials, and reports to support operational needs.

- Uphold high standards of professionalism and adhere to organizational policies, including safety and equal employment opportunity practices.

- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with administrative staff and union personnel.

- Promote and follow safe work practices, ensuring compliance with all organizational safety policies and procedures.

- Assist with inventory tracking and management, including physical inventory checks and control procedures.

- Perform essential tasks as directed by maintenance leadership to support daily operations.

- Utilize computer applications, including inventory management systems, to ensure efficient tracking and reporting.

- Participate in annual inventory processes to ensure accurate asset tracking and compliance. Requirements

- Familiarity with warehouse and storeroom procedures, including inventory management and record-keeping for heavy-duty vehicle parts.

- Ability to identify and recognize parts used in heavy-duty vehicles such as buses and trucks.

- Valid Michigan driver's license with eligibility to drive.

- Capable of lifting and moving parts, including items weighing over 30 pounds.

- Proficiency in computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite and inventory management software.

- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines independently or under general supervision.

- Appearance and demeanor reflecting attention to detail.

- Reliable attendance and punctuality to meet service requirements in public transportation.
