The Director of Accounting is responsible for leading a high-performing North American Corporate Accounting team through a period of significant finance transformation (including a Workday ERP implementation). This remote role champions process redesign, drives adoption of advanced technology, and ensures accurate, compliant accounting standards in a publicly traded environment.

Our Director of Accounting is accountable for:
  • Accounting Technical Expertise
    • Demonstrates deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, and SOX compliance.
    • Oversees accounting operations (monthly/quarterly/annual close, complex analyses, reconciliations, and audits).
    • Drives the implementation and optimization of ERP and related tech platforms (Workday, Black Line, Workiva).
  • Transformational Leadership & Change Management
    • Leads teams through organizational change, process redesign, and system implementation.
    • Champions technology adoption and continuous process improvement.
    • Maintains audit readiness and strong internal controls during transformation.
  • Project Management & Process Improvement
    • Manages full-cycle ERP implementation, collaborating with cross-functional partners to meet accounting and compliance requirements.
    • Initiates and executes improvement projects—leveraging technology to increase efficiency and strengthen controls.
  • Strategic & Analytical Thinking
    • Applies critical analysis to business combinations, goodwill, and complex transactions.
    • Drives forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning in partnership with finance leaders.
    • Leverages advanced analytics to inform decisions and guide organizational direction.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration & Executive Communication
    • Serves as a primary contact for business units, executives, auditors, and external partners.
    • Provides clear communication of complex accounting matters to senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Team Development, Coaching & Performance Management
    • Builds and mentors a team of 4–6, fostering a high-performance culture of accountability, growth, and excellence.
    • Develops team capabilities and bench strength to sustain excellence through change.
Essential

Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (required);
    Master’s/MBA preferred
  • Active CPA license
  • 12+ years of progressive accounting experience, 5+ years in management/leadership
  • Experience at publicly traded companies with SEC reporting, SOX compliance
  • ERP implementation experience (Workday preferred)
  • Strong project management, change leadership, and stakeholder communication skills

Base pay range for this position is $120,075 - $160,100 per year. Final annual compensation will be based on experience and may vary by geographic location.
