Brief Overview

The Logistics Supervisor leads and supports the daily operations of a functional team within Peckham's 3rd Party Logistics Line of Business, overseeing workflow, coaching, and team performance. This role ensures service delivery meets or exceeds client expectations, operational goals, and Peckham's mission to provide job opportunities for individuals with barriers to employment.

What you will do
  • Supervise day-to-day operations of team members, including performance, productivity, quality, and adherence to policies.
  • Assist in monitoring and analyzing operational metrics to meet or exceed client contractual obligations and organizational performance goals.
  • Provide compassionate and people‑focused feedback, coaching, performance management and documentation in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Apply sound communication and motivational techniques in leading, supervising, coaching, and disciplining.
  • Lead daily huddles and team meetings with clear, respectful communication; ensuring updates are delivered in a way that promotes understanding, engagement, and follow‑through.
  • Actively engage with employees to promote inclusion and support individuals with barriers to employment.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve day‑to‑day issues and improve processes.
  • Make daily decisions that support team workflow, escalating more complex issues when necessary, and taking ownership for the outcomes of team‑based decisions.
  • Compile and analyze team performance data, attendance, and operational metrics to identify trends and provide regular reports to leadership for decision‑making and continuous improvement.
  • Support employee growth by documenting performance concerns and workplace incidents in a timely, respectful, and accurate manner, in accordance with organizational policies and with the goal of guiding improvement and accountability.
  • Identify operational or interpersonal challenges, communicate them effectively with leadership, and support the implementation of practical solutions.
  • Coordinate and participate in the onboarding of new team members, ensuring a welcoming, supportive, and informed start to their role.
  • Partner proactively with Human Services staff to ensure employees receive the necessary supports, accommodations, and coaching needed for long‑term success and retention.
  • Quickly learn and apply new systems, tools, and processes as needed, modeling adaptability and a growth mindset for the team.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, respect, and inclusion aligned with Peckham’s mission.
  • Ensure adherence to safety, security, and organizational procedures.
  • Provide hands‑on support and guidance to employees.
  • Participate in training and development to build leadership skills.
What you will need
  • High School (HS) Diploma and/or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role in Supply Chain or Warehouse Operations
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to coach and motivate diverse teams
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong capability in using data monitoring and reporting tools
  • Must be able to pass and maintain Federal and State background check
Nice to have
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills to prioritize competing demands in a fast‑paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage shipping, receiving, inventory control, and order fulfillment processes
