POSITION SUMMARY:
## Alger Delta CEA is seeking an Operations Manager. This position directs the Construction, Operations, and Maintenance functions of the Cooperative's distribution system in such a manner as to assure safety, reliability, and quality of service. Managing resources, including human resources, to maintain a high degree of proficiency and responsiveness while controlling costs is paramount in this position.##
Position Responsibilities:
#### 1.
Lead the Cooperative’s safety program, including training and field observations.#### 2.
Communicate the Cooperative's Mission, Strategic Plan and polices within the Operations Department.#### 3.
Schedule and oversee the Cooperative’s vegetation management program.#### 4.
Monitor progress and costs incurred in carrying out departmental work plans and budgets.#### 5.
Manage the Cooperative’s fleet assets.#### 6.
Maintain currency and understanding of RUS, NESC and other applicable standards and regulations.#### 7.
Establish system performance requirements and a review process to determine compliance with reliability and power quality goals; develop and implement action plans to maintain electric service within the limits of established quality and continuity standards.#### 8.
Direct construction, operations and maintenance activities to obtain maximum productivity and effectiveness in pursuit of Work Plan goals and objectives.#### 9.
Develop schedules for periodic line patrol, voltage and load measurements, and evaluations of the physical and electrical conditions of the distribution system; and implement appropriate and timely remedial action to maintain continuity and power quality standards for electric service.#### 10. Acquire and schedule personnel, equipment and materials to accomplish assigned Work Plan goals.#### 11. Investigate and resolve customer complaints regarding electric service to obtain appropriate resolution and maintain favorable member relations.####
12. Coordinate work activities with outside contractors.#### 13. Be available for after-hour outages and emergencies.#### 14. Other duties as assigned.##
** POSITION
QUALIFICATIONS:
** Strong knowledge of electric utility operations. Journey level lineworker certification or engineering degree. A thorough working knowledge of distribution system design, construction, operations, maintenance, job training and safety related work practices is required. A working knowledge of applicable codes, regulations and standards is essential. Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, metering, communications, and computer systems is desirable. Must be a team player with the willingness to help others learn, grow and develop professionally.
Must be able to build and maintain positive working relationships with board members, other senior staff members and the general public. Must maintain a positive attitude during difficult and stressful times such as power outages. Must be willing to help in all other areas of utility operations. Experience in managing the work of others, and maintaining effective relationships, both within and outside the organization, is required.
A Commercial Drivers License is preferred.
