Executive Manager Development Services

  • Full-time – fixed term 5-year contract
  • Negotiated – remuneration package inc salary component, superannuation & private vehicle allowance up to $200k per annum

Overview

The Shire of Dardanup is seeking a highly capable Executive Manager Development Services to lead a diverse and critical portfolio at an exciting time, with major projects on the horizon including Wanju and the Waterloo Industrial Park.

This is a key leadership role that strategically connects the Executive and Management teams, providing direction, technical expertise and operational oversight across regulatory and compliance functions, including planning, building, health, rangers and emergency management.

You will play a vital role in guiding sustainable development outcomes while ensuring strong governance, legislative compliance and exceptional service delivery to our community.

Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction across the Development Services portfolio
  • Lead and support a high-performing multidisciplinary team
  • Deliver planning, regulatory and compliance services aligned with legislation and best practice
  • Provide expert advice to the CEO, Council and stakeholders on development and governance matters
  • Oversee risk, compliance, emergency management and organisational governance frameworks
  • Drive continuous improvement, service excellence and sustainable community outcomes
Qualifications
  • Proven senior leadership experience in development services or related discipline
  • Strong ability to influence, negotiate and manage complex stakeholder environments
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying relevant legislation and policy frameworks
  • Strategic thinker with sound governance, risk and decision-making capability
  • Highly developed communication and relationship management skills
  • Relevant tertiary qualification and/or extensive professional experience in a related discipline
