Autokiniton - Maintenance Superintendent RESPONSIBILITIES- Support the Company’s mission, vision, values, and goals in the performance of daily activities.
- Responsible for performance feedback and leadership of all direct reports including mentoring, coaching, counseling, and corrective action when situations dictate.
- Provide key input into the development of the Plant’s strategic business plan and identify and track key measures to support the Plant's business plan goals.
- Develop and drive the development of departmental strategy goals and identify and track key measurable objectives to support the department goals.
- Provide direction and leadership consistent with the plant business plan goals.
- Responsible for maintenance department safety, quality, production, and delivery objectives.
- Responsible for leading all building and press maintenance activities in the plant.
- Track, monitor, and implement required improvement activities related to business plan, goals, issues, etc.
- Assist, as required, with plant activities to achieve customer cost reduction goals.
- Provide an active leadership role in meeting / exceeding customer expectations in all related areas.
- Utilize teamwork to develop plant synergy.
- Develop and manage preventive maintenance schedules.
- Responsible for ensuring accountability and discipline.
- Responsible for maintaining maximum levels of production utilization and efficiency.
- Drive department manning levels and utilization to assure compliance with the budget.
- Provide leadership and promote positive morale and ensure a total team concept.
- Provide the proactive leadership necessary to achieve and maintain a continuous improvement mindset for the team.
- Coordinate and assess required training and team building.
- Provide colleagues with the necessary training to be successful in their roles.
- Assure work orders are prioritized appropriately.
- Champion assigned engineering changes, communicated, and coordinated accordingly with all departments.
- Provide input into quoting and business development activities (pricing, program management, plant capacity, etc.)
- Direct, drive, and participate in problem-solving methods for related plant and customer issues.
- Responsible for overall department coordination and communication.
- Responsible for managing the maintenance communication scoreboards.
- Communicate key information to the organization through the daily “shift to shift” communication plan.
- Assure all direct reports are aware of their Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) responsibilities and hold all direct reports accountable.
- Responsible for ensuring the entire team has the necessary tools and materials to properly perform their roles safely and efficiently.
- Responsible for following all internal and OSHA-required safety procedures in performing all daily work activities.
- Adherence to all company policies and procedures (ex. Quality Policy Manual, Colleague Handbook, Level II procedures, etc.)
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides direct leadership to Maintenance Supervisors and hourly colleagues.
- Ability to identify, select, train, and coach management talent.
- Bachelor’s degree in applied science in Manufacturing, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience as a maintenance supervisor preferred, and two (2) years of management experience.
- Knowledge of manufacturing, stamping, and/or assembly processes as required for the position.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to mentor and teach the team in effective problem‑solving methods.
- Demonstrated experience in applying lean manufacturing concepts.
- Proven leadership ability and excellent interpersonal skills.
Duties include, but are not limited to, standing, walking, bending, lifting, talking, and hearing, with the ability to travel. When visiting plant site locations, employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration, or hazardous materials.
