About the Position
The administrative manager will serve as the second line manager for Agency Services/Department Technology, Management and Budget supporting the Department of Natural Resources, Environment Great Lakes and Energy, Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, and Department of Military and Veterans Affairs. The manager will carry out management duties for first line managers and staff, provide direction and control functions, establish priorities, allocate staff, and ensure first line supervisors handle administrative, supervisory, and planning functions.
LocationThis position is located in Lansing, MI. The Department of Technology Management and Budget offers a hybrid work option requiring two days on-site and three days remote per week.
Responsibilities- Serve as second line manager for Agency Services/Department Technology, Management and Budget.
- Carry out management duties for first line managers and staff.
- Provide direction and control functions and establish priorities.
- Allocate staff and ensure first line supervisors handle administrative, supervisory, and planning functions.
- Manage employee evaluation, counseling, selection, and provide technical and policy guidance and training.
- Bachelor’s degree in any major.
- Minimum four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the P11 level or one year equivalent to the 12 level.
- Alternate education: completion of high school plus two years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at level 14, or one year at level 15.
- Alternatively, four years of professional experience with two years equivalent to P11 level or one year equivalent to 12 level performed within State of Michigan classified service.
