Area Support Director

Overview

We are seeking an Area Support Director in Lansing, MI.

The primary job responsibility is to fill and cover various roles in multiple Environmental Services departments throughout the region. Roles referenced include Housekeeping Associate, Floorcare Technician, Operations Manager, Assistant Director, Director, Training Manager, and Patient Ambassador. The position also assists in audits, accreditation compliance, training compliance, and budget performance across the region.

• Control expenses within the area of responsibility.
• Develop and recommend the Department Operating Budget and ensure the department operates within the budget.
• Evaluate and justify supplies, equipment, and purchases as needed.
• Maintain records and statistics for administrative and regulatory purposes.
• Plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and supervise functions and activities of the department.
• Establish work standards and workflow.
• Maintain effective communication with the client and hospital personnel to ensure needs and requirements related to the Hospital Management Contract are satisfied.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies.
• Maintain an environment that is sanitary, attractive, and orderly.
• Ensure that environmental procedures are followed.
• Demonstrate and promote Xanitos’ culture, values, and management philosophy.
• Be proactive in achieving hospital goals and objectives.
• Demonstrate quality leadership in meeting performance plans.
• Working knowledge of Xanfin.
• Travel required:
  
  maximum of 10 days per assignment.
• Foster regional engagement and collaboration across the area.

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred OR related experience with three to five years of supervisory experience.
• Ability to analyze and interpret financial and other data.
• Strong business acumen and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent service/quality orientation.
• Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong public speaking skills.
• Sense of urgency and self-direction.
