Neogen is looking for a Quality Manager – Laboratory Services who will provide leadership and first‑line management to the Quality and Performance Officers, ensuring an effective quality of services for the Laboratory Services department. The role requires specialist advice and knowledge to the regional management team, ensuring successful implementation of Quality Management Systems that adhere to ISO/IEC 17025 and similar standards.
The manager will oversee the QMS to maintain audit readiness and support daily laboratory functions.
- Provide direct line management, including appraisal, development, performance monitoring, competency assessments, and staff motivation.
- Engage with Accreditation Body assessment audits, delivering evidence of compliance and managing improvement actions.
- Pro‑actively seek improvement to service delivery, respond to complaints, and implement effective corrective actions.
- Work with Managers to identify opportunities to develop capabilities, innovate, improve efficiencies, and reduce costs where applicable.
- Lead implementation of quality management systems that meet ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation requirements.
- Manage the internal audit program, address priorities, and ensure effective close‑out of non‑conformances.
- Ensure the laboratory is consistently audit‐ready.
- Participate and assist in the development of business cases to support change around Quality Management Systems.
- Supervise day‑to‑day laboratory activities, providing frequent updates to the Laboratory Manager.
- Prepare technical reports, tabulate data, and generate graphs for senior personnel.
- Collaborate with R&D and technical services on product validations.
- Potential international and domestic customer visits, trade shows, and Neogen global locations (5% travel).
- Participate in External Proficiency programs as appropriate.

- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in physical science, chemistry, or related fields.
- Minimum 2 years of work experience in a laboratory setting.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a technical management role is preferred.
- Experience implementing and managing a quality management system accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 or a similarly robust standard is desirable.
- Experience presenting scientific results to diverse audiences is preferred.
- Experience in diagnostic kit validation is preferred.
- Language
Skills:
Ability to read, interpret, and understand documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedural documents in English; effective verbal communication in team and general group settings. - Mathematical
Skills:
Ability to perform routine, college‑level mathematical operations, including statistical functions. - Computer
Skills:
Solid knowledge of computers and operating systems; proficiency with Microsoft Office and Power Point; experience with statistical software is a plus.
