Position Description
Ryder is immediately hiring for permanent full‑time Forklift Operators and Material Handlers in Lansing, Michigan.
Pay and Schedule- Hourly Pay: $18.72 per hour
- Overtime Pay: $28.08 per hour
- Schedule:
First Shift Monday‑Friday 6:30am‑3:00pm (overtime and occasional Saturdays as needed)

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- One year or more related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred
- Valid forklift operator’s license, certified
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to create and maintain professional relationships at all levels (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)
- Highly thorough and dependable
- Punctual with a good attendance record
- Performs work independently with minimal supervision

- Able to lift and/or push/pull up to 35 lbs
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Works using health and safety methods
- Available to work a flexible schedule on various shifts
- Detail oriented with excellent follow‑up practices
- Perform warehouse functions, including loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting
- Perform duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract
- Responsible for accurate picking, packing, auditing, tote induction, staging of products, and loading/unloading of trucks
- Handle day‑to‑day paperwork in a warehouse environment (picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.)
- Provide technical and maintenance support for automated packing system during core shift hour of production
- Perform other duties as assigned
Some positions require additional screening, which may include employment and education verification, motor vehicle record checks, a road test, and/or background checks per customer requirements.
