Candy Maker- Afternoon shift

Overview

Second Nature Brands is on a mission to grow from $500M to $1B over the next 4 years through an aggressive combination of M&A and organic growth. We have an opening for a Candy Maker who will be an important member of the supply chain team during this growth.

The Candy Maker will assist in the creation of our famous confections. This position is based at Sanders Chocolate Factory, 23770 Hall Road, Clinton Township, MI 48036. Regular working hours are Monday through Friday, 2:00pm to 11:00pm, with weekday or weekend overtime as needed. The starting rate is $18.00 per hour plus a $1.00 shift premium.

• Manually transferring cooled caramel tubs weighing approximately 50 lbs each repeatedly to the production line.
• Cleaning and sanitizing the equipment used to make candy.
• Starting and continuing the production line using established guidelines.
• Quality control of caramel squares on the production line to check for weight and uniformity.
• Follow all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), Q&FS (Quality & Food Safety), and OSHA Safety policies.
• Tracking inventory using ERP system.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• High school diploma/GED
• Self-directed
• Must be able to read and write English proficiently
• Ability to work well with peers and supervisors
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to keep production lines running efficiently
• Previous manufacturing experience is required

• Standing for 8–10 hours
• Walking up and down stairs
• Lifting up to 50 lbs frequently
• Wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE) provided by the company
