LG Energy Solution Michigan Inc. (LGESMI) develops and manufactures large lithium ion polymer batteries and packs for electric vehicle (EV) and energy storage applications.
SummaryThe Process Engineer will support the distribution of resources in accordance with the production/shipment plan, ensure the safety of the workplace, perform production activities by optimizing the process/equipment, and manage/improve the production related results (e.g., Yield, Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE), Quantity, etc.).
Responsibilities- Work with engineers and operators to troubleshoot the machines on the production floor to ensure highest yield and OEE
- Understand quality issues, review non-conformance reports (NCRs), analyze quality issues and provide corrective actions
- Improve production processes by creating various SOPs and train operators to ensure understanding and correct implementation to floor
- Check production progress management in accordance with the production plan
- Feedback to production management department when problems related to production progress occur
- Inventory management (classification of good products/pending inventory)
- Non-conformance report handling and improvement
- Yield management
- Conduct internal and customer audits
- Compliance with health/safety/environmental/fire regulations
- Maintain cleanliness at work‑site in accordance with 5S3R Standards:
- Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain
- Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent, relevant experience
- 1-3+ years of experience in a manufacturing production related position or equivalent, relevant experience
- Comfortable working independently and with others
- Results-oriented and perseverant
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Project and process management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Technically proficient and motivated to continuously improve
- Six Sigma knowledge
- Battery production related knowledge
