SUMMARY
The Packing Operator is responsible for loading and packing Revolution Farms’ products, as well as performing sanitation to ensure quality and compliance with food safety standards. This role involves operating machinery, performing repetitive tasks at high speed, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The position requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a climate‑controlled environment with temperatures around 36°F.
DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Properly load and package Revolution Farms’ products on assigned machines
- Inspect produce for defects, contaminants, and foreign materials during loading and packing; report any issues promptly
- Inspect packaging for defects or contaminants; report any issues promptly
- Meet or exceed established production efficiency standards
- Rotate workstations as required to support workflow
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with company standards
- Complete all required Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), including beginning and end of day, and ongoing throughout shift
- Comply with all written Good Manufacturing and Agricultural Practices (GMPs/GAPs) at all times
- Support and maintain the placement and storage of produce, packaging, and other materials in their designated areas within the packing cooler
- Adhere to standards for material storage, including maintaining 6‑inch clearance from walls, keeping items off the ground, and establishing lanes between products
- Perform high‑speed, repetitive tasks such as machine operation, hand packing, palletization, and shipping
- Understand lettuce blend ingredients and mix ratios using basic math skills
- Be able to properly identify all lettuce varieties and mixes visually
- Organize produce and packaging to comply with First In, First Out (FIFO) procedures
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions
- Communicate effectively with other team members and staff
- Contribute positively to team goals and maintain a collaborative work environment
- Other duties as assigned
- At least 18 years old
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds on a frequent basis
- Must be able to read numbers on a digital scale
- Access to reliable transportation
- Capability to perform grasping, sorting, handling, lifting, bending, crouching, twisting, standing, walking, carrying, pushing, pulling, balancing, stooping, kneeling motions
- Experience with repetitive motions, eye/hand/foot coordination, machine operation, handling tools, sweeping, and similar tasks
- Attention to detail
- Problem‑solving skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi‑task and prioritize work
- Ability to operate a pallet jack and maneuver loads weighing up to 1,000 pounds
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
- Frequent grasping, sorting, handling, and lifting during loading and packaging processes
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds frequently
- Repetitive motions associated with high‑speed production tasks
Work will take place in a climate‑controlled packing cooler with temperatures around 36°F. The floor is unfinished concrete, sometimes wet during sanitation, and requires stepping in and out of sanitizing footbath mats. The employee may occasionally be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, and the noise level is generally moderate.
