Job Overview

As a Level 3 CNC Machinist / CNC Programmer, you will play a pivotal role in our manufacturing process. You will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines to produce intricate medical components made from various metals, ensuring the highest levels of precision and efficiency. You will also troubleshoot issues during production to maintain product quality in compliance with medical industry standards.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with programs for CNC machines to manufacture medical components according to design specifications using Unigraphics and hand coding (G&M).
  • Optimize manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle times, and minimize waste by selecting appropriate cutting tools and fine‑tuning programming algorithms.
  • Conduct thorough testing and validation of CNC programs to verify dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and material integrity.
  • Set up and operate a machine on a trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings to programmed control data.
  • Verify conformance of finished work pieces to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
  • Detect and report faulty equipment, defective material, and any unusual conditions to the department supervisor or lead.
  • Collaborate with Mechanical Engineering (ME) and Quality Engineering (QE) on validation tasks.
  • Set up 3‑, 4‑, and 5‑plus‑axis CNC machines.
  • Operate multiple machines simultaneously.
  • Monitor machines to ensure proper program performance.
  • Complete shop work orders, inspection documentation, and daily maintenance sheets.
  • Make offsets and adjustments to machines without supervision.
  • Troubleshoot problems and, if necessary, elevate to technical experts and leadership.
  • Advocate for the health and safety of yourself, co‑workers, customers, and the community.
  • Support quality and compliance by adhering to all procedures, work instructions, and forms per the Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Complete all required training.
Qualifications
  • Education: High School or Equivalent (Preferred)
  • Experience: Lean Manufacturing Experience (Preferred);
    Experience in Medical Device Manufacturing (Preferred); 3+ Years of machining experience in a manufacturing environment (Required)
