Manufacturing Engineer

Plans, directs, coordinates, and supervises all new value add processes. Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods utilizing knowledge of product design, materials, fabrication processes, tooling, production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.

Job Authority

• Supervise all Manufacturing Engineering personnel
• Liaison for manufacturing to outside automation suppliers.
• Request for quotes with outside suppliers. (RFQ)
• Create purchase orders for Manufacturing to be approved by Plant Management.
• Lead person for design and build of secondary equipment.
• Lead person for installation and qualification of secondary equipment.
• Lead person for automation in molding operation.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for determining workflow for secondary operations
• Responsible for setting efficiency standards for secondary operations.
• Initiate value-add industrial engineering changes to actual through Plant Management
• Responsible for continuous improvement of existing operations.
• Assist in establishing work instructions for new jobs.
• Must approve workflow processes deviations

Key Duties

• Interact with Engineering for quotes regarding secondary operations.
• Advance planning of manufacturing secondary operations.
• Recommend layout, workflow, and process improvements for manufacturing.
• To establish supplier development, internal/external (RFQ).
• Initiate action to prevent errors in manufacturing and secondary operations.
• To issue purchase orders for approved projects/suppliers.
• To approve preliminary/final design for product builds. Internal/External.
• To develop tracking of timelines for product builds.
• Equipment validation internal/external.
• Manufacturing hand off with instruction and training.
• Complete performance evaluations of all Manufacturing Engineering personnel.
• Approve hours and time off requests for Manufacturing Engineering personnel.
