AWS/CES is looking for a CI Process Engineer for our automotive manufacturing client
- Location: Lansing, MI
- Pay rate: $97,500 salary base + Benefits
- Job Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire
This is an exciting opportunity for a process improvement professional who is passionate about Lean Manufacturing, data analysis, and operational excellence. Reporting to the CI Manager, you will play a key role in identifying process improvements, leading cross-functional projects, and implementing sustainable solutions that enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency throughout the manufacturing operation.
Key Responsibilities Continuous Improvement- Identify process inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement throughout manufacturing operations.
- Lead Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives focused on reducing waste, improving quality, lowering costs, and increasing productivity.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to optimize manufacturing processes.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve operational performance.
- Analyze production workflows and develop process maps, value stream maps, and standardized work instructions.
- Support production operations within Die Cast and CNC manufacturing areas by troubleshooting process-related issues.
- Develop standardized procedures to improve consistency, quality, and manufacturing efficiency.
- Support process validation and continuous monitoring of manufacturing performance.
- Collect, analyze, and present manufacturing performance data to management and key stakeholders.
- Monitor KPIs including throughput, cycle time, scrap, downtime, and defect rates.
- Utilize Advanced Excel and ERP systems to generate reports and identify improvement opportunities.
- Support A3 problem-solving initiatives and evidence-based decision-making.
- Lead cross-functional teams through continuous improvement projects.
- Manage multiple projects while ensuring timelines and business objectives are achieved.
- Support implementation of automation, digital technologies, and process optimization initiatives.
- Train employees on Lean Manufacturing principles, standardized work, and continuous improvement tools.
- Facilitate classroom and shop floor training sessions for employees at all levels.
- Maintain process documentation, work instructions, and improvement records for audits and future reference.
- Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience
, preferably within the automotive industry. - Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with ERP systems such as Plex, SAP, Oracle, or similar.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and presentation abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to travel as required.
