Level 3 Maintenance TechJob Summary
Responsible for activities regarding design, construction, modification and maintenance of equipment and machinery in manufacturing so that throughput, inventory and operating expense objectives are achieved. Inspects and repairs machinery and equipment based on operating parameters, according to engineering principles and safety regulations.
Duties / Responsibilities- Analyzes mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment and plans for and takes corrective action. Makes necessary corrections and equipment adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.
- Performs preventive maintenance on equipment that is not scheduled for manufacturing to reduce downtime.
- Performs tool changes and set up in a timely manner.
- Provides production support.
- Performs waterjet tip changes and rehoming of robots.
- Performs coil changes on waterjets.
- Responsible for process set-up of press lines.
- Rebuilds Normally Closed/Normally Open (N/C-N/O) waterjet valves.
- Threads and installs black pipe and PVC.
- Rebuilds ISO/Poly pumps.
- Performs troubleshooting functions.
- Diagnoses and identifies various types of hydraulic/hose fittings and repairs/replace as needed.
- Makes and replaces high pressure lines, including bending and threading.
- Performs basic electrical machine repairs, e.g., heater/oven bulb replacement and sensor replacement.
- Builds hydraulic and chemical hoses using hydraulic crimping tool.
- Tests newly installed or refurbished machines and equipment to ensure fulfillment to specification and safety.
- Notifies supervisor of recurring equipment malfunctions and corrective action taken, quality problems, and supplies needed.
- Trains and guides maintenance personnel in other maintenance classifications.
- Documents equipment breakdown/activity and provides reports as requested, using reports to analyze opportunities for improvement.
- Ensures timely and accurate recording of completion of maintenance activities, including utilizing computerized maintenance management programs; maintains detailed recordkeeping in support of maintenance management system.
- Maintains positive communication among other shifts and departments.
- Adheres to plant safety and Environmental Management System (EMS) requirements as established by company policy and/or OSHA.
- Maintains knowledge of all safety devices, procedures, and MIOSHA regulatory requirements regarding machinery to identify and communicate all potential safety issues in an effort to eliminate all avoidable risks.
- Adheres to applicable IATF and ISO 14001 requirements.
- Will be required to work necessary overtime as applicable on 1 st , 2 nd , or 3 rd shift.
- Other assignments and responsibilities as required to support organizational and team objectives.

Skills and AttributionsTo be successful in this role, you must have interpersonal skills, problem-solving skills, and writing skills.
Qualifications- High school graduate, with technical school degree or equivalent of training or experience.
- Three to five years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in automotive interior systems.
- Must possess solid understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical and electrical.
- Complete understanding of all press lines and processes; be able to successfully operate all machinery.
- Proficient troubleshooting skills.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to make decisions independently or within a group setting.
- Basic understanding of electricity, including three-phase.
- Strong welding skills (MIG).
- Ability to understand, identify and use hydraulic crimping devices.
- Comfortable using hand power tools.
