Weekend Shift Material Handler​/Machine Operator

Alro Steel Corp is seeking a Weekend Shift Material Handler/Machine Operator for our manufacturing service center in Jackson, MI. In this role, you will load, unload, and move steel and plastics using cranes and forklifts, and operate cutting and processing machines to fill customer orders. Responsibilities include reading work orders, measuring and inspecting materials, staging shipments, and maintaining a clean, safe workspace.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and move steel and plastics using cranes, forklifts, and related equipment
• Operate cutting, sawing, or processing machines per work orders and safety procedures
• Inspect materials for accuracy, quality, and damage; stage orders for shipment
• Read and interpret work orders, tags, and measurements to ensure correct processing
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow all safety and PPE requirements
• Perform basic equipment checks and report maintenance issues promptly
• Work weekend shifts to meet production and shipping schedules
• Collaborate with team members to meet productivity and on-time delivery goals
