Ginop Sales is seeking a full-time Yard Specialist for our Williamsburg, MI branch. This position is responsible for supporting daily yard operations, equipment organization, inspections, assembly, and basic mechanical support activities. The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy equipment, strong attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Primary ResponsibilitiesThe primary responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Complete equipment traffic paperwork accurately and timely
- Photograph all equipment entering and leaving the facility
- Perform visual inspections of equipment during check-in and check-out
- Verify operator manuals, safety equipment, and machine documentation
- Organize and maintain the yard to ensure safe and efficient operations
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the facility exterior including mowing, weed whipping, and pulling weeds
- Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and assembly instructions
- Check inventory and verify materials needed for assembly and installation projects
- Use hand tools, power tools, and equipment to assemble products and equipment components
- Assist shop technicians with mechanical work, including inspections, pre-delivery inspections (PDIs), installation of parts, and equipment preparation
- Conduct inspections during and after assembly to ensure quality and accuracy
- Possibility of making light deliveries
- Perform quality assurance checks on completed products and equipment
- Safely operate heavy equipment as required
- Incorporate Alta's Guiding Principles into daily activities
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Maintain consistent, regular, and reliable attendance, including being ready for work at the designated start time
- Must be willing to work Saturdays on a rotational basis
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
- Knowledge of construction and heavy equipment
- Experience operating heavy equipment is required
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, assembly instructions, and technical manuals
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to assist with equipment maintenance and assembly
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional and positive attitude
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and basic computer applications
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Language Skills
- Intermediate:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. - Mathematical Skills
- Basic:
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. - Reasoning Ability
- Basic:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
