This is a temporary, full-time position with employment limited to the duration of the project. Continued employment is contingent upon project funding, operational needs, and successful completion of assigned duties.
Position Summary The Senior Communications Coordinator will support our client by enhancing digital communication, improving public access to services, and expanding outreach to their clients and their families. This position is focused on strengthening the company’s online presence and ensuring that accurate, accessible information about available benefits and services is widely distributed.
This role is temporary and designed to support short-term communications and outreach needs, including website updates, social media management, and development of informational materials.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Design, update, maintain, and train staff on our client’s website to ensure accuracy, clarity, and accessibility of information
Develop, schedule, and manage social media content across department platforms
Create, edit, and update informational materials including flyers, brochures, and outreach documents
Assist in designing and formatting printed and digital communication materials
Support outreach initiatives aimed at increasing awareness of our clients services and programs
Coordinate messaging to ensure consistency across all communication platforms
Identify opportunities to improve digital engagement with veterans who primarily use online resources
Assist staff with communications projects and special outreach campaigns as assigned
Position Purpose This position is intended to improve communication between our client and their community by expanding digital access points and enhancing outreach strategies. A key focus is reaching potential clients who may not currently be engaged with traditional service channels but rely on online platforms for information and support.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience with website content management systems (CMS) required
Social media platforms and digital engagement strategies experience
Graphic design skills (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools)
Strong written communication and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and manage multiple short-term projects
Preferred Qualifications Experience in website administration, marketing, communications, public relations, or outreach
Prior work in a governmental or nonprofit environment
Experience designing outreach or educational materials for public distribution#IND1
