JOB DESCRIPTIONTeddy’s campaign is looking for a Finance Director to lead fundraising strategy, manage donor relations and events, oversee finance staff, and ensure financial goals are achieved through strong planning and execution.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS- Field Plan:
Implement a winning, strategic field plan that outlines the campaign’s efforts through Election Day, including canvassing, phone/text outreach, digital & other communications, relational organizing, volunteer recruitment, and district outreach. The Field Director will collaborate closely with the Campaign Manager. - Field Management:
Coordination of field calendar including candidate door knocking and calling, field volunteer recruitment follow-up calls & walks, FD, CM and intern walks by precinct. Work in VAN creating turfs, volunteer lists, and managing phone and text banking, and managing texting and dialer programs. - Volunteer Recruitment and Management: effectively leverage the candidate’s local connections to reactivate/recruit, train and manage campaign field volunteers; much of this will include reengaging the more than 100 field volunteers from 2022 successful effort and building on that. Work closely with local, and state grassroots organizations, community leaders, faith leaders, activists, and labor unions to mobilize their members to help get out the vote.
Secure commitments throughout the cycle and assign relevant tasks. - Team Leadership & Coordination: lead regular team meetings with volunteers. Work with other staff members to make sure campaign field benchmarks are being met.
- Must have field experience and have led canvasses.
- Must have at least one cycle of political campaign experience, can be as a volunteer or intern.
- Experience training and supporting volunteer coordination.
- Proficiency using NGP, Vote builder (VAN) database, or willingness to learn. Experience with Mobilize and P2P tools is a bonus.
- Access to a computer and laptop are required.
- Commitment to establishing a culture of respect and community for our campaign.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and a team approach.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle.
- Competitive and based on experience. This is a growth opportunity to help build a historic campaign, beginning as a volunteer or stipend role with plans to transition into a paid position as fundraising develops.
