About the Position
We are expanding a Float Pool of Advanced Practice Providers (NP/PA) for a high-volume Level III Emergency Department. This is a hospital-based inpatient ED opportunity with flexible PRN coverage.
Job Overview
Setting:
Inpatient Emergency Department (Level III)
Coverage Type:
Float Pool / PRN
Shift: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM (daily APP coverage)
APP works independently in Fast Track within the ED with physician support available 24/7
Practice environment includes attending physicians and EM residents
Clinical Environment
Annual ED volume: ~40,150
Average daily volume: ~110 patients (shared among providers)
ED beds: 50+
Trauma Level: Level III
EHR:
Cerner
Fast Track unit within ED (10-bed area)
24/7 services:
Radiology, Laboratory, OR, Pathology, Blood Bank
All surgical specialties available
Operational Highlights
Hospital admissions originate significantly from the ED
Admissions managed by hospitalists and residents
Deliveries sent directly to Labor & Delivery
Structured referral and transfer protocols
Credentialing timeline: ~90 days
✅ Requirements (Mandatory)
Board Certified NP/PA – REQUIRED
Michigan State License – REQUIRED
Local providers only – REQUIRED
Minimum 2 years recent ED experience – REQUIRED
ACLS / ATLS – REQUIRED
DEA – verbal confirmation at name clear
Clean background – REQUIRED
NPDB self-query (within 30 days) – REQUIRED
Availability must be provided at submission
Additional Documentation Required
Immunization records:
Hep B, MMR, Varicella, Flu, COVID, TB, TDAP
