About the Position
We are seeking an experienced Cardiovascular & Thoracic Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens assignment in Michigan. This opportunity begins on Mar 9, 2026, for a 48-day contract with a 4-day, 10-hour workweek and on-call coverage one week out of four, including one weekend per month. The assignment focuses on rounding and supporting the APP team without any operating room responsibilities.

Schedule:

4-day, 10-hour workweek; APP on call 1 in 4 weeks, including one weekend per month

Responsibilities and Duties
Round and support both the CVICU and CVSU, with no OR responsibilities
Manage 2-3 CVICU patients daily (can be up to
8)
Oversee 2-5 CVSU patients per day, including discharges
Provide support for 4-10 vascular cases between ICU and floor (mostly floor-based, typically not primary provider)
Collaborate with the APP team to ensure coordinated patient care

Additional Information
Board certification in Thoracic and Cardiac Surgery required
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Active Michigan medical license preferred
Clean malpractice and license history highly preferred
Must provide copy of NPDB self-query (within 30 days of presentation)
New graduates must have prior experience
