Position Overview
The Manager of Nursing – Multispecialty is a skilled Registered Nurse who provides both clinical leadership and operations management across specialty service lines, including infusion services and clinical radiation therapy. This role functions in a supervisory capacity while maintaining clinical expertise, ensuring high‑quality, safe, and efficient patient care delivery across assigned departments. Represents nursing in corporate initiatives to enhance care delivery and positioning in the health care environment.
This position reports to the Senior Director of Nursing.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Michigan.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), preferred.
- Oncology Certified Nurse Certificate (OCN), acquisition after 1 year of employment.
- Successful completion of competency‑based orientation program and chemotherapy certificate within 6 months of employment.
- CPR certification or acquisition within 90 days of employment.
- 3 or more years of oncology experience.
- Demonstrated clinical expertise in oncology, infusion services, or related specialty areas.
- Experience overseeing or collaborating with clinical radiation therapy teams.
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a clinical setting, including ability to manage multidisciplinary teams across multiple locations.
- Serves as a clinical expert and nursing leader across multispecialty services, including infusion and clinical radiation therapy.
- Oversees daily operations, staffing levels and service schedules to optimize efficiency, patient flow, resource utilization, and patient satisfaction.
- Supports adherence to evidence‑based practice, regulatory requirements, and organizational standards of care including policy/procedure development and maintenance.
- Identifies, analyzes, and resolves issues impacting care delivery in collaboration with other department leaders.
- Administers time and attendance processes, including work schedules, payroll review and time‑off/absence management.
- Collaborates with Nursing leadership to identify and resolve nursing service and clinical radiation therapy issues.
- Partners with the Nursing Director to interview, select, retain, and enhance the education and development of staff.
- Monitors employee performance partnering with the Senior Director of Nursing on corrective action and performance evaluations.
- Participates in organizational and corporate committees as appropriate.
- Performs other duties as assigned in support of organizational goals.
