Overview
RNFA - CV Surgery Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and experienced Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) to join our Cardiovascular Surgery team. This role will primarily assist in a variety of Cardiac, Thoracic, and Vascular surgical procedures. The ideal candidate will be proficient in endoscopic vein harvesting and radial artery harvesting. As an RNFA, you will collaborate with a team of 2 Cardiothoracic surgeons and 3 Vascular surgeons, providing essential support during surgical interventions.
This position requires participation in the OR call schedule, ensuring comprehensive coverage for our patients.
- Assist surgeons during Cardiac, Thoracic, and Vascular surgical procedures.
- Perform endoscopic vein harvesting.
- Perform radial artery harvesting.
- Participate in OR call coverage, including weekdays and weekends.
- Ensure patient safety and maintain a sterile environment in the operating room.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to optimize patient outcomes.
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan.
- Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA) certification.
- Acute Hospital OR experience.
- One year of RNFA experience.
- Experience with EPIC charting system.
- Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm repair
- Acute Hospital OR experience
- Angioplasty/stenting
- Aortic Aneurysm repair
- Arteriovenous fistula repair
- Atherectomy
- Atrial Septal defect repair
- AV Graft
- Cardiac surgery experience
- Carotid artery stenting

- Days per Week: 4
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Weekend Rotation: 1 in 4 weekend rotation
- Call Requirements: 1 in 4 for weekdays (one night Mon-Thursday) and weekends (one weekend per month).
