"Neonatology Opportunity Lansing, MichiganA Level III NICU and Special Care Nursery in Lansing, Michigan is seeking a Board-Certified Neonatologist for ongoing locum coverage due to staffing shortages.
Compensation:
Hourly: $310/hr Orientation: $155/hr Holiday: $465/hr Night call: $390/hr Weekend call: $2490
Callback: $430/hr Position Details Specialty:

Level III NICU and Special Care Nursery Coverage Period:
July 1, 2026 July 1, 2027
Schedule:
Day
Shift: 10 hours
Night
Shift: 14-hour home call
Call Ratio: 1:4
Response Time:
Must arrive at the hospital within 30 minutes when called
Coverage needs are variable due to staffing shortages
Patient Population Neonatal patientsNICU and Special Care Nursery population
Facility Details Level I Trauma Center
47 total beds:33 licensed NICU beds
12 Special Care Nursery beds2 bassinets
Open-bay NICU design
Average daily census: 31 patients
Average admissions: 3 per day Clinical Responsibilities Attend high-risk deliveries and cesarean sections
Provide neonatal critical care management
Ventilator management including:
BiPAPCPAPOscillator ventilation
Nitric Oxide (iNO)
Required Procedures Chest tube insertion
Central line placement
Arterial line placement PA catheter insertion
Umbilical Venous Catheterization (UVC)
Umbilical Artery Catheterization (UAC)
PICC placement
Neonatal resuscitation and emergency management
Additional Responsibilities Potential supervision of Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (NNPs)
Documentation in Epic EMRSupport Staff Neonatal Nurse PractitionersNICU Nurse Manager Operations Manager Physical Therapy Occupational Therapy Dietitians Child Life Specialists Dedicated NICU nursing staffEMREpic Requirements Board Certified in Neonatology Neonatology fellowship required
Active Michigan medical license required at presentationNALS certification required
Self-Query NPDB dated within the current month required at presentation
Additional Information Estimated credentialing timeframe: 120+ days Travel reimbursement available for:
