Nurse Supervisor

Altru Rehabilitation Hospital, part of Altru Health System, is seeking a dedicated Nurse Supervisor to provide clinical and operational leadership for our inpatient rehabilitation nursing team. In this role, you will coordinate and oversee daily nursing activities on your assigned unit, ensuring safe, high-quality, and patient-centered care for individuals recovering from illness, injury, and surgical procedures. You will lead and support a team of registered nurses, LPNs, and nursing assistants, promoting evidence-based practice, interdisciplinary collaboration, and a culture of safety.

The Nurse Supervisor will be responsible for staffing and patient assignments, monitoring patient acuity and workflow, and serving as a resource and clinical expert at the bedside. You will coach and mentor team members, participate in onboarding and competency validation, and provide real-time feedback to help staff grow professionally. In close partnership with rehabilitation physicians, therapists, case managers, and other disciplines, you will help develop and implement individualized care plans that optimize functional outcomes and support successful discharges.

This position plays a key role in implementing organizational policies, quality initiatives, and regulatory standards, including documentation compliance, infection prevention, and patient satisfaction. The Nurse Supervisor will assist with performance improvement projects, track and interpret quality indicators, and contribute to the development of best practices within the rehabilitation environment. You will collaborate with hospital leadership on scheduling, resource allocation, and operational planning, helping to balance quality care, staff well-being, and fiscal responsibility.
