American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department position requiring active MI licensure, TNCC, and a minimum of 2 years of ER experience.
Details- Combined adult and pediatric general emergency department within a Level I Trauma Center, Stroke Center, and Heart Center
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30)
- Patient ratios are typically 1:5–6 and may increase up to 1:8 during high-volume periods and holidays
- Weekend requirement: 3 weekends (Fri–Sun) per 4-week schedule, with scheduling ranging from 1 to all 3 days of the weekend
- Floating to the Pediatric Emergency Department is possible
- No on-call requirements
- Epic EMR used; experience preferred, with training provided during orientation
- Active MI RN license required; compact licenses are not accepted in Michigan
- Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required
- Level I trauma center experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA preferred), PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS
- Preferred certifications: ENPC
- All certifications must be active by contract start date and cannot be pending
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience with IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, and blood product administration
- Experience with IV vasopressors and procedural sedation administration/monitoring
- Experience managing CVA, neuro-trauma, and spinal cord injuries
- Triage experience preferred
- Continuous IV sedation experience preferred
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Former core staff members must wait 12 months before returning and will be verified through HR prior to consideration
- Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate as traveling candidates
- RTO is limited to a maximum of 5 days per assignment and must be submitted at the time of initial consideration; no additional RTO will be approved after submission
- No RTO is permitted on 10/31 or 9/4–9/7
- Specialty-specific modules are required to be completed prior to the start date
- AHA-issued certifications are preferred
