Locum Nurse Practitioner - Neonatology in Lansing, MI

Quick Facts:

- End Date: TBD (with ongoing credentialing process)
- Shift: Day (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM) and Night (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Hours/Week: 36 hours (approximate)
- Employment Type: Locum
- Licensure/Certification s: Active State License (required), NRP Certification
- Experience: Neonatal ICU experience required; no new grads
- Patient Load: 10-12 neonates daily
- Pay Rate: Negotiable hourly, with additional compensation for holidays and overtime

- Attend delivery and neonatal resuscitation procedures
- Assist with PICC line and umbilical line placements
- Perform needle aspirations and chest tube insertions
- Collaborate closely with supervising physicians during shifts
- Document patient care accurately in Epic EMR
- Support the unit’s efforts to deliver top-quality neonatal care
Required:
- Active State License (no new license candidates)
- Board certification (ANCC, AANP, NCCPA, etc.)
- Neonatal ICU experience (no new grads)
- NRP Certification
- Competency in neonatal procedures like resuscitation and line placements
- Experience attending deliveries and performing advanced neonatal interventions
This assignment is based at a busy Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit within a leading facility in Lansing, MI. The unit cares for critically ill neonates, providing comprehensive inpatient services. The scheduled coverage fills staffing gaps due to temporary program adjustments, offering a rewarding opportunity for experienced neonatal NPs to make a difference.
