Resident Assistant

• $15.26 per hour starting wage (includes direct care worker supplement).

Duties and responsibilities:

• Handling and serving residents in their dining experience in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort.
• Adhering to instructions and care plans.
• Performing duties in accordance with established methods and techniques and in conformance with recognized standards.
• Make beds
• Measure and record side rails as required for the state of Michigan 7 zones of entrapment.
• Pass fresh water.
• Recognize and report resident changes in condition as it relates to the dining experience.

Other duties as directed that does not require certification or specialized training beyond their scope.

• Pass and collect trays, feed residents, pass nourishments.
• Report falls or occurrences outside of normal routine resident routine to supervisor.
• Report defective equipment to supervisor and maintenance.
• Transport wheelchair residents to activities or therapies, per care plan.
• Attend mandatory meetings and at least twelve (12) in-service annually; read monthly newsletter.
• Documents according to guidelines.
• Follow rules as outlined in Resident’s Rights and Corporate Compliance.
• Follow Infection Control policies and procedures.
• Assist with CPR emergencies.
• Other support duties as directed by the Administrator, Director of Nursing or supervisor.
• Follow established policy and procedures of the ICMCF, including following dress code, etc.

Successful completion of an eight-hour State-approved Dining Assistant curriculum. No flags against applicant’s name upon background check. Must be a minimum of 16 years old.
