American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Level I Trauma Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years ER experience and active MI licensure.
Details- Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
- Level I Trauma Center with Stroke Center, Heart Center, and Pediatric Emergency Department
- General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients
- Current staffing ratios of 1:5-6, with potential to rise to 1:8 depending on patient volume and holidays
- Weekend requirement of 3 weekends (Fri-Sun) per 4-week schedule, potentially working 1-3 days each weekend
- Floating required, including possible floats to Pediatrics
- No on-call responsibilities
- EPIC EMR used, with experience preferred and training provided during orientation
- Active MI RN license required by start date; compact license not accepted
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
- Level I Trauma Center experience required
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS (AHA preferred), PALS, TNCC, NIHSS
- ENPC certification preferred
- Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
- EPIC charting experience required
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Triage experience preferred
- Continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation administration experience preferred
- Proof of high school level education required
- Provide emergency nursing care across general, trauma, and pediatric patient populations
- Manage high-acuity cases including gunshot wounds, traumatic amputations, head injuries, and near-drowning incidents
- Support STEMI and Stroke Certified Facility protocols
- Maintain isolation precautions and proper PPE usage
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
- First-time travelers may be considered for this position
- Returning staff members must wait 12 months before reapplying and will be verified through HR
- RTO requests must be submitted at time of application; no additional RTO will be approved afterward
- No RTO permitted on 10/31 or between 12/18-12/28
- Maximum RTO allowance is 5 days per assignment
