Job Summary

The role of a Laboratory Resources Associate Technician is to provide the support work, care and daily observation of animals as required to assure continued accreditation through the Association for the Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care, International (AAALAC), and the continued availability of Emergent's unique stock of guinea pig for use in product related testing. This position is a non‑traditional position, meaning weekend, holiday, and as needed overtime is required.

Functions

Animal Care & Facility Support
  • Operation of autoclaves/cage washers/rack washers, including manual cleaning of caging and facilities as required. May operate a forklift as needed.
  • Daily care of animals (feeding, watering, observing), cleaning cages, maintaining a high level of cleanliness and sanitation in the animal area including documentation of completed tasks.
  • Performance of technical assignments in care of animals such as weighing animals, recording weights, performing identification technique, and euthanasia.
  • Perform basic document review.
  • Assist in training of routine activities based on department needs.

Minimum Education , Experience, Skills Education
  • HS Diploma or equivalent
Skills & Experience Required
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
Skills & Experience Preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, and PowerPoint is preferred.
  • Experience working with animals, particularly in a laboratory animal environment preferred.
U.S. Base Pay Ranges and Benefits Information

The estimated annual base salary as a new hire for this position ranges from $34,000 to $41,200. Individual base pay depends on various factors such as applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location. Certain roles are eligible for additional incentive compensation, including merit increases, annual bonus, and/or long‑term incentives in the form of stock options.
