About the Role
Neogen is searching for a Quality Manager – Laboratory Services to lead the Quality and Performance Officers and ensure effective quality of services within the Laboratory Services department. The role will provide specialist advice and support to the regional management team and unit staff, ensuring successful implementation of Quality Management Systems that adhere to ISO/IEC
17025 and similar mandated quality standards.
- Provide effective direct line management including appraisal, development, performance monitoring and competency assessments, while motivating staff to problem‑solve and promote good practice.
- Engage with Accreditation Body assessment audits, providing evidence of compliance, identifying improvement actions and managing their resolution.
- Proactively seek improvement to service delivery, respond to complaints or dissatisfaction, and implement effective corrective actions.
- Work with Managers to identify opportunities to develop capabilities, innovate, improve efficiencies and reduce costs.
- Lead the implementation of quality management systems that meet accredited standards for ISO/IEC 17025, overseeing project plans and ensuring compliance.
- Manage the internal audit program, prioritize audit activities, report on findings and close out non‑conformances.
- Develop and support business cases to facilitate change around Quality Management Systems.
- Supervise and assist in day‑to‑day laboratory activities with updates to the Laboratory Manager.
- Tabulate and graph data and prepare technical reports for senior personnel.
- Collaborate with R&D and technical services on product validations.
- Participate in external proficiency programs and conduct potential international and domestic customer visits, trade shows, and other site visits (approximately 5% travel).
- Perform any other duties deemed reasonable by management.
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in physical science, chemistry, or related fields.
- Minimum 2 years of work experience in a laboratory setting.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a technical management role is preferred.
- Prior experience implementing and managing a quality management system accredited to ISO/IEC
17025 or a similarly robust standard is desirable. - Experience presenting scientific results to diverse audiences is preferred.
- Experience in diagnostic kit validation is preferred.

Computer Skills- Solid knowledge of computers and operating systems.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and PowerPoint; experience with statistical software is a plus.
