EHS Manager Company Overview

Our client is the U.S. subsidiary of a well-established Japanese global manufacturer with operations across multiple industries. The EHS Manager is responsible for leading the company's Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

• Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, programs, and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable environmental and safety regulations.
• Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations, and recommend corrective actions.
• Lead safety training programs and promote employee awareness of EHS policies and best practices.
• Monitor regulatory changes and update company policies as needed.
• Manage environmental reporting, permits, and required regulatory documentation.
• Collaborate with management to drive continuous improvement in workplace safety and environmental performance.
• Serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies and support internal and external EHS audits.

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in Environmental, Health & Safety, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and applicable federal and state regulations.
• Experience conducting safety training, audits, and incident investigations.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability and flexibility to take frequent business trip nationwide.
• Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence a positive safety culture.

• Professional certifications such as CSP, ASP, CHMM, or equivalent are a plus.
• Ability to communicate in both Japanese and English is preferred.
• Experience working with Japanese companies or an understanding of Japanese business culture is highly desirable, as this role will collaborate regularly with the headquarters in Japan and Japanese expatriate employees in the U.S.
