What You Will DoPratt & Whitney Auto Air (Lansing, MI.) designs, manufactures, and repairs composite components, engine test equipment, and nacelles for the aerospace industry. We’re looking for a professional Quality Manager to join our team. The primary focus of this role is to ensure Regulatory Compliance and QMS adherence to the end goal of supporting overall product quality. Key Responsibilities- Ensures the sites activities are in accordance with Regulatory requirements.
- Company Policy, AS9100 requirements, and internal site QMS procedures.
- Becomes functional expert in regulatory and QMS requirements and leads the organization in compliance.
- Manage the internal audit and corrective action programs. Champion best practices to improve regulatory and QMS compliance.
- Promote the Product Safety and Quality culture in the business, through compliance to the QMS and adherence to Quality Cardinal Rules.
- Perform internal audits and manage audit program, to include 2nd and 3rd party audits.
- Lead and mentor the quality organization to foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
- Partner with safety, operations, engineering, materials, and maintenance teams to meet deliverables and solve problems.
- Lead organization training on regulatory and quality requirements as needed.
- Develop proactive quality initiative strategies and drive their implementation.
- Perform Escape Management procedures, root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions for internally produced products & processes.
- Represent our business with external customers and suppliers. Build relationships and actively resolve concerns.
- Advanced degree and 5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, Quality Management, Operations, Engineering or Supporting Compliance within Aviation, Aerospace, Automotive, Defense or other regulated industry; OR Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant industry experience; OR Associate’s degree and 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Experience with Quality Management Systems (i.e., AS9100/AS9110 or ISO 9001) and audit process
- ASQ certifications (CQE, CQA, CMQ/OE) or equivalent.
- Degree in STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics)
- Strong working knowledge of FAA Part 145, EASA, AS9110, and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Root Cause and Corrective Action experience (QCPC, RCCA Red-X, Fault Tree, etc.)
