Conduct experiments to support ongoing research including:
Surgical procedures (tooth microsurgery) and injections (i.p), Perfusions, Tissue dissection (TG/skull/jaws) and processing including cryosectioning, Immunohistochemistry, In situ hybridization. Maintain detailed records of all experiments and data via online servers. Interpret and implement research methodology under supervision. Identify problems and limitations and recommend solutions. Animal handling and induction of disease models. Assist with confocal microscopy, in vivo imaging, and behavior.
Data analysis, and interpretation:
Assist in data collection including confocal microscopy, in vivo imaging, and behavior. Analyze data for interpretation by research team. Assist in manuscript preparation. Contribute to the development and design of research projects.
Provide technical training to other lab members.
Required QualificationsThe applicant must have a BS degree in neuroscience or biological sciences. Minimum of 1 year previous work experience in research laboratory. Candidate must be willing to work with mice. Curiosity, positive attitude, and willingness to learn are essential. Critical thinking abilities are a must. The candidate should be detail-oriented, function well in a team, exhibit good interpersonal skills, and demonstrate respect for others.
The candidate should be highly motivated and capable of functioning autonomously to complete goals after initial direction. Furthermore, the position necessitates a candidate with organizational skills, ability to manage time, and demonstrated accountability and long‑term commitment. Excellent attendance record.
This position is with the School of Dentistry at 1011 N University Ave.
Additional InformationThis is a one-year term limited appointment, with the possibility of renewal or promotion based on performance.
