Serves meals to Harbor Light clients and maintains a sanitary kitchen as well as providing housekeeping services which include general cleaning, trash removal, dusting, mopping and vacuuming of the facility.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Possess current Food Service Handler and/or Serv Safe certification and knowledge of HACCP standards
- Must have knowledge and experience in the areas of food service and housekeeping.
- Valid Michigan Chauffeur License and approved by The Salvation Army MVR
- B. test and police clearance required
REPORTS TO: Building Manager
JOB DUTIES:
- Clean and maintain the kitchen according to acceptable food service standards.
- Properly handle and work with food in a clean, efficient, and sanitary manner.
- Set up and serve meals to clients.
- Maintain and monitor food temperatures through complete food handling process
- Do all dishes after the meal is served.
- Pick up and deliver client meals.
- Sweep and mop kitchen and dining room.
- Clean and sanitize counters, steamers, warmer, juice machine, coffee, milk machine, sinks, cooler, freezer and dishwasher.
- Regularly inventory and order stock and supplies.
- Fill any requests needed throughout the building from each department.
- Maintains cleanliness of all areas of the facility.
- Ensure an adequate amount of cleaning and client room supplies are on hand at all times.
- Use universal precautions when cleaning body spills and bodily fluids

Paid Time Off
- Sick days begin accruing the first of the month after one full calendar month after employment begins, and you may begin to use sick days after (90) days of employment.
- Up to (6) earned sick days per year may be used as discretionary days.
- Vacation begins accruing the first of the month after one full calendar month after employment begins, and you may begin to use vacation days after (90) days of employment.
- The accrual rate is based upon years of service and approved hours worked.
- You will receive 2 personal days for the year in January and July this year, pro-rated on month of hire.
- Paid holidays are effective immediately.
