Position Summary
Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates touring stores and providing feedback. Communicates and collaborates with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and communicating business objectives to teams effectively. Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards to store associates by following the One Best Way OBW service model, managing and supporting customer service initiatives such as community outreach programs, and ensuring customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved.
ResponsibilitiesDevelops and implements action plans to correct deficiencies and provides process improvement leadership to ensure a high-quality customer experience. Drives the financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing and evaluating Profit and Loss statements, managing budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses, and ensuring effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes. Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, and mentoring associates, assigning duties, setting clear expectations, providing recognition, promoting a belonging mindset, and recruiting qualified associates to meet staffing needs.
Coordinates and oversees job‑related activities and assignments by building relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs, and building accountability for results. Demonstrates adaptability, promotes continuous learning, and upholds company policies, standards of ethics, and integrity through action plans and the Open Door Policy. Builds inclusive, high‑performing teams that embrace diversity and foster a culture of belonging.
Acts with integrity by maintaining the highest standards of ethics and compliance, modeling Walmart values, and supporting the goal of becoming a regenerative company. Serves customers and members first, applies the EDLP and EDLC business models, and makes decisions based on data insights and analysis. The annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00‑$. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation may also include:
- Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location)
- Complex Structure (based on external factors that create challenges)
State Pay Differential applies where applicable. This job may include an additional differential to meet legislative requirements. - 2 years’ of college OR 1 year’s retail experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience OR 2 years’ general work experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience.
- For facilities that sell firearms, successful completion of a firearms‑specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training is required.
- For facilities that sell only ammunition and have state‑specific requirements, a current state‑issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required.
- Associates must attend and complete all job‑required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).
- Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
- General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
