Position SummaryThis role is responsible to lead the day-to-day activities of the department operations in a retail store in the absence of the department manager or as directed, ensuring the associates are trained, the department is fully staffed, operating at company standards and meeting all company goals and key performance indicators.
Here’s What You’ll Do- Order and maintain inventory, using inventory control procedures and proper markdown to minimize loss.
- Validate received orders for quantity, quality, and condition, ensuring proper storage.
- Manage a team to complete stocking, production, and related tasks, maintaining product quality and rotation.
- Maintain familiarity with all products in the department and store.
- Know store-specific items, special prices, coupons, and rewards programs.
- Communicate and execute weekly flight plans according to company expectations.
- Use required tools and software to manage scheduling and forecasting.
- Support the department manager with labor control, overtime, and payroll expense.
- Implement core values, competencies, and Our Winning Recipe.
- Assist with staffing, training, performance management, and career development.
- Assist with developing and monitoring department goals and forecasts.
- Attend daily huddles, manager meetings, and district/company level meetings.
- Maintain clean, attractive, and well-stocked department with Prime Time standards.
- Follow all food safety and safety guidelines and take corrective action if needed.
- Follow all PPE, food safety, cleaning, and guest experience guidelines.
- Perform tasks in other departments as needed.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
- High School Graduate (Required) or GED.
- 0-2 years of retail experience preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication, and bookkeeping skills.
- Good organization, prioritization, decision-making, problem solving, and conflict management skills.
- Strong leadership abilities with capability to work in a hands‑on environment.
- Good strategic planning and business acumen skills.
- Good knowledge of retail store operations and management systems.
- Suggestive selling and product knowledge preferred.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to communicate in Spanish highly desirable.
May be required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Require standing, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, and turning frequently. Work in a typical retail store environment with varied temperatures and exposure to outside weather conditions. Reasonable accommodations will be provided for disabilities. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
