Role OverviewWe’re hiring a Mortgage Loan Officer to originate, structure, and close residential purchase loans while delivering an exceptional borrower and Realtor experience.
This role reports to the Branch Managers and serves as a critical partner across Sales, Processing, and Operations, helping Best Interest scale responsibly while maintaining predictable execution and closing certainty.
Loan Officers at Best Interest are not just salespeople — they are trusted advisors who own their pipeline, communicate proactively, and partner closely with operations to protect closing dates.
Key Responsibilities- Consult with borrowers to understand financial goals and recommend appropriate loan programs
- Originate and structure residential mortgage loans (Conventional, FHA, VA, Jumbo)
- Manage leads and active pipeline from application through submission
- Deliver clean, submission-ready files to Processing
- Set accurate expectations with borrowers and Realtor partners
- Maintain consistent communication throughout the transaction
- Proactively manage conditions that require LO input or explanation
- Protect closing timelines through early issue identification and follow-up
- Build repeat and referral business through trust, responsiveness, and execution
- Operate in full compliance with all federal, state, and company guidelines
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
- Strong communicator who builds trust with borrowers and agents
- Organized and disciplined in pipeline and follow-up management
- Coachable and process-oriented, with a team-first mindset
- Experienced in building B2B relationships and growing organic referral business
- Has wholesale/broker experience, nice to have
- 3+ Years of experience with mortgage origination and sales
- Excellent communication skills, able to influence across teams and levels
- Real estate, fintech, or marketplace industry experience a plus
