To join our team as an Energy Efficiency Technician, you will act as a local on-site program and company representative to residential customers. You will educate power utility customers on Energy Waste Reduction. Install basic energy-efficient equipment, and inspect customers homes for insulation, air sealing, HVAC equipment, and make recommendations for saving energy and money. The Technician will work directly with our Utility Client's diverse, multi-lingual customer base.

Please note:

Position is available in the Flint area. Candidates must live in or be within a reasonable commuting distance from their territory. The employee will have a four-day work week, working 10 hour days. You will be provided a company van and need a clean driving record. This role is remote with no overnight travel. This is not a sales role; no cold calling.

Customers schedule their own appointments through a support team and scheduled appointments are provided to you.

• Be a professional and enjoy customer service
• Be organized and maintain equipment and company vehicle (good driving record)
• Climb ladders up to 10’ and lift/carry 50 lbs
• Conduct installation of basic residential energy efficiency upgrades – training provided
• Provide technical advice, guidance, and training on installation, adaptation, configuration, or enhancement per client specifications – training provided
• Provide input and status updates to program staff regarding project scope, planning, and effectiveness of products; provide technical expertise to identify, analyze and resolve issues
• Demonstrate interest and ability to learn about home construction and HVAC equipment to be an effective educator
• Travel throughout a defined territory
• Variable schedule
• Additional duties as assigned

• 1-3 years of relevant industry experience preferred
• Comfortable using computers and various software
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn
• High school diploma or GED required
• Associates Degree with relevant industry technical certification/training preferred
• BPI Certified preferred

Target Compensation: $23/hr

This is a safety-sensitive position and may include field work, warehouse work, or requires driving on behalf of the company. Conditional offers require post-offer, pre-employment drug test and consent to a motor vehicle record report. Driving position applicants must hold a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record for continued employment. Salary is hourly and determined based on internal equity, salary ranges, market data, experience, and certifications.
