Field Service Engineer / Technical Service Representative
Seeking a hands‑on Field Service Engineer to support customers primarily in the Detroit, MI area and throughout Michigan, with travel up to 50%. This role is responsible for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex equipment combining mechanical, electrical, electronic, software, and power systems. Strong high voltage experience is required.
Key Responsibilities- Perform on‑site installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of equipment across mechanical, electrical, electronic, and software systems
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues involving high voltage power systems, circuits, controls, and integrated components
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation to identify root causes and implement solutions
- Test and verify system performance, including mechanical assemblies, electrical systems, and software functionality
- Work directly with customers to identify operational issues and provide technical solutions, repairs, and adjustments
- Replace or repair defective components including wiring, boards, sensors, and mechanical parts
- Calibrate and align systems to meet OEM specifications and quality standards
- Provide training to customers on equipment operation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting
- Prepare service reports, quotes, and documentation related to repairs, warranties, and service activities
- Maintain accurate service records, schedules, and expense reporting
- Manage parts inventory and ensure proper calibration documentation is up to date
- Background supporting equipment that integrates mechanical, electrical, electronic, and software systems
- Experience working with high voltage power systems and electrical equipment
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
- Proven troubleshooting skills across multi-disciplinary systems
- Comfortable working independently in field-based environments
- Experience in customer-facing service roles preferred
- Ability to travel up to 50%, primarily within Michigan and surrounding areas
This is a field-based role with a strong regional focus, offering a mix of hands‑on technical work and customer interaction supporting complex equipment in real-world operating environments.
