What You’ll Do

  • Inspect, diagnose and repair diesel trucks and heavy equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance and annual inspections
  • Troubleshoot Cummins, Mack and Detroit Diesel engines
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, air brake, steering, suspension, drivetrain, HVAC and hydraulic systems
  • Diagnose and repair ECMs, TCMs and ACMs
  • Perform transmission, differential and suspension repairs based on skill level

    Utilize fleet maintenance software to review vehicle history, document repairs and complete work orders
  • Respond to service calls and equipment breakdowns as needed
  • Fabricate and weld components when required
  • Maintain a clean, safe and efficient work environment
  • Communicate with drivers and operators to improve equipment reliability
  • Support and mentor less experienced mechanics as appropriate

What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience with heavy‑duty trucks, fleet vehicles or heavy equipment
  • Knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, electrical systems, hydraulics, brakes and emissions systems
  • CDL Class B with air brakes preferred, or ability to obtain
  • Michigan Heavy Duty certifications preferred
  • ASE certifications a plus
  • Ability to supply personal hand tools
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality and teamwork
  • Ability to pass physical and pre‑employment and random drug screens (including marijuana)

Qualifications Education Required
