Project Technician

Overview

Remote role with occasional travel to Wixom, MI. The Project Technician leads, troubleshoots, and resolves issues on-site for CMM project systems installation and commissions automated measurement equipment.

• Installations:
  Represent ZEISS as onsite lead during installation of all project-related content; install, troubleshoot, and run ZEISS CMM automated loading systems; direct and support end-user skilled trades during installation of ZEISS CMM enclosure and automated measurement systems; oversee equipment through the PRO TAG process.
• Programming and system support:
  Program and troubleshoot safety systems and electrical systems; program and troubleshoot Watlow HVAC controller; communicate on-site installation status to project manager; work with and validate deliverables of ZEISS contractors and vendors; document system acceptance and provide installation report to project manager; prepare custom operation documentation for each unique system.
• Engineering Changes:
  Identify and report necessary engineering changes; support engineering team in the development and validation of engineering changes.
• On-site Support:
  Train customer on system use.

• Mechanical inclinations and skills preferred;
  Verbal and written communication skills to create concise technical reports; mechanical detailing – reading blueprints, CAD drawings.
• Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office; electrical systems troubleshooting experience desired; must be a team player; valid US driver's license.

• Willingness to travel to customer sites 50-70%; willingness to work off-schedule hours up to 3 weeks at a time; ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity; ability to lift up to 50 pounds on an infrequent basis.
