Talascend is currently seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for a contract opportunity with our client in Lansing, Michigan
.
The Maintenance Mechanic provides electrical and mechanical support for the assigned buildings, performing a wide range of responsibilities including troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, emergency response, and general maintenance tasks across various systems and components.
Responsibilities- Maintain light bulbs and change ballasts
- Assist the operations team in the maintenance and repair of building and equipment
- Perform general office maintenance, including hanging pictures, installing keyboard trays, and repairing office furniture
- Conduct major/minor plumbing repairs
- Complete special tasks such as painting, locksmith work, tenant service requests, and general maintenance
- Move office furniture, machinery, equipment, and other materials as requested
- Assist with repair and maintenance of building equipment
- Comply with policies for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials
- Attend safety training and adhere to safety policies
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Keep organized records of work performed
- Perform other assigned duties
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
- Ability to handle electrical and mechanical systems
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Strong attention to safety procedures
- Experience with HVAC systems and controls
- Certifications in electrical or mechanical trades
The shift for this role is 3rd shift, Monday through Friday, from 10:00 pm to 6:30 am.
