Maintenance Technician
The Maintenance Technician will perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment, utilities, and facility systems. This includes working with PLCs, instrumentation, mechanical components, HVAC, boilers, and cooling towers. The role involves conducting chemical testing and monitoring operating systems to ensure optimal performance, safety, and regulatory compliance. Additionally, the technician will troubleshoot equipment failures, respond to emergency maintenance needs, and support 24/7 automated process monitoring.
Responsibilities- Complete PMs, work orders, inspections, and repairs to maximize equipment reliability and uptime.
- Manage maintenance supplies and chemical inventories, including ordering, receiving, and vendor coordination.
- Identify safety risks, recommend equipment improvements, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with production and maintenance leadership to prioritize maintenance activities and support operational goals.
- Provide training and technical guidance to technicians and operators as needed while maintaining a strong commitment to workplace safety.

Skills & Qualifications
- HS Diploma/GED required.
- Associates degree or certification in a technical field preferred.
- Mechatronics Certifications for Levels 1-7 completed.
- 5-7 years of hands-on manufacturing maintenance experience, preferably in a food manufacturing setting.
- Skilled and certified in various PLC programming languages.
- Knowledge and experience with Safe Quality Foods (SQF), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) and Lean Manufacturing process.
- Familiar with office technology tools (i.e., MS Office).
- Able to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Ability to operate basic machining equipment (lathe, mill, drill press).
- Understanding computer theory, programmable logic controls (PLC) and experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).

This is a Permanent position based out of Lansing, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $72800.00/yr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
