Equipment Tech Operator

• Operate heavy equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, skid steers, backhoes, haul trucks, and other assigned machinery.
• Perform pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections to ensure safe operating conditions.
• Conduct excavation, grading, trenching, back filling, material movement, and site preparation activities.
• Read and interpret site plans, grade stakes, and project specifications.
• Monitor equipment performance and report mechanical issues, malfunctions, or safety concerns.
• Perform routine maintenance, including fueling, lubricating, cleaning, and minor adjustments.
• Follow all safety regulations, company policies, MSHA and OSHA requirements.
• Maintain awareness of surrounding personnel, equipment, utilities, and environmental hazards.
• Coordinate with supervisors, truck drivers, laborers, and other equipment operators to ensure efficient project completion.
• Complete equipment inspection reports, maintenance logs, and production records.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license.
• Experience operating heavy construction or industrial equipment.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Knowledge of safe equipment operating practices.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety.

• Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• OSHA 10-Hour or OSHA 30-Hour certification.
• Experience with GPS-guided or grade-control systems.
• Equipment-specific certifications or training.
• Experience in construction, utilities, roadwork, mining, or industrial operations.

• Equipment operation and control.
• Basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of excavation and grading procedures.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong attention to detail and situational awareness.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, and enter/exit equipment for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to see, hear, and react quickly to changing job-site conditions.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Outdoor construction, industrial, quarry, agricultural, or utility environments.
• Exposure to dust, vibration, noise, and changing weather conditions.
• May require overtime, weekends, and travel to different job sites.
• Regular operation of heavy machinery around moving vehicles and personnel.
